Touching
a bit of Heaven

I believe the moment captured in the haiku is most important. I would like to thank Dr. Randy Brooks, as my mentor and fellow writer, for teaching me how to compose and love haiku.

In addition, I'd like to thank Masajo Suzuki and Yoshiko Yoshino for showing their love through such beautiful haiku, and giving me the inspiration and courage to write my own.

dove feathers in the nest
pass through my fingers
I touch a bit of Heaven

robin song
outside my window
Mom brushes my hair

at the edge of Niagra Falls
not a word spoken
between us

Mother's wedding dress
my broad shoulders
won't fit

his fingers brush
the hair off my cheek
no need for words

summer evening
we join the fireflies
dancing under the moon

lazy afternoon
two grasshoppers mating
on my sandal

September 11, 2001
9 AM
my clay pot falls over

autumn night
as we kiss
I let down my hair

backed up against
the cold street lamp
first kiss

reading of romance
near the fire
then the phone rings

his harsh words . . .
a long walk home
through the winter wind

starry night
the one I wished on
only an airplane
