4 in-laws
3 nose jobs

on my bed
     nestled by a pillow
           sleepy cat eyes

speaking on abstinence
to Jr. High kids:
giggles from the back row

  

 

hearing his car
             I race the cats
             to the front door

clipping his toenails
in white underwear—
I ponder marriage

  

 

on the front porch
plastic dish 
collects leaves and rainwater
